It's the whole principle of the matter and the differing of information that is the issue and the inconsistency of events as to why they didn't fulfill their own terms and conditions whilst quoting them to me! Definitely don't recommend them and would have given them 0 stars if could. Well they don't want to know now! Told us driver would have waited an hour - they weren't even there when I spoke to them. Then missed a call from them and then finally got hold of them to be told they would be about 35 minutes late due to change over of drivers and their shifts and we would be quicker getting taxis! They said to claim the prepaid fare back once home. Tried contacting Hoppa on way to meeting point to no avail. By time we disembarked plane we were a total of 45 mins late. Slight delay actually taking off from runway. Eventually one needs to go to the refund website, which does not work either.ĭO NOT USE! First impression very good, emails sent and initial good communication, so fills you with confidence that they provide a good service! How wrong!! The email received after two working days informs you that they regret what happened and that they refund you in Hoppa credits, whilst I paid an additional EUR 21.60 to get a full refund. A complaint can only be lodged via the website, there are no contact details. I tried to call the UK number many times to lodge a complaint, unfortunately one does not get further than listening to the waiting tape. This resulted in us negotiating with a Taxi driver next to the road to take us to the hotel. The agent responding the emergency number informed us that our booking was cancelled by Hoppa and that they could not do anything about it, also not sending a new driver. Unfortunately no-one was there to pick us up. A day later I received my voucher with the confirmation, pickup time etc. Once clicked you receive an email that the booking was successfully amended, but nothing changed. The link provided in the email takes you to a webpage which only lets you confirm the amendment without showing any information or what the amendment is about. One week before departure I received an email that an amendment was required. Very dissapointed as we have used Hoppa before and been usually good but it was a rip off and would advise to not use as they don't answer the phone, don't give refunds and try get money from you.One doesn't notice that it is a scam at first! Booking process is very smooth. We rung the vehicle provider before our travel to Faro who said that Hoppa are letting people book 1 taxi and then when people arrive to the airport are being asked to pay to upgrade to an 8 seater due to the covid restrictions so trying to get more money out of customers when they arrive at Faro airport. We then had to pay extra for an 8 seater but when we got to Portugal itself, other taxis would allow 3 people in 1 car. We were told to pay extra to book another taxi or pay for an 8 seater car for 3 of us. However we then got an email the following day that due to Covid restrictions 3 people could not get into a 1 vehicle taxi. Having had to cancel a holiday in April 2020 we asked several times for a monetary refund and they would only give hoppa credit and then we rebooked for Portugal in September 2020 and we booked a transfer for 4 people in 1 vehicle at Faro Airport and paid extra money for the transfer we were told the booking was accepted and got a confirmation of booking. As for complaining, Hoppa seem to have made art form of not paying any compensation/refunds - if things go wrong (as they certainly appear to) their customer service is zero. On trawling through Hoppa's TrustPilot/Trip Advisor reviews over the last 6 months, it appears that my experience is not uncommon - wish I checked this before booking. No automated acknowledgment sent and still no reply of any sort. Explore the 16 th -century fortress and be prepared to haggle for a souvenir at the exciting Grand Bazaar, enjoy some delicious traditional cuisine or just sit back and relax on the beach. I was forced to use street taxi instead.Ģ4 hours has now elapsed since I submitted a formal complaint to Hoppa in their clunky complaints website. A hoppa transfer from Dalaman Airport to Marmaris will get you there in luxury, taking you straight into the authentic old town and quaint marina. By this time I am now 30 minutes late and with a 40 minute drive to the airport I was in danger of missing my flight. I called the help number who kept me on the line for over 20 minutes eventually claiming the transport was allegedly stuck in traffic and would be another 10 minutes. On the return, the transport didn't turn up at the allocated time. For my arrival transfer in Gran Canaria I booked and paid for a Mercedes and/or Sedan - 20euros more expensive than standard saloon.
